Very deceptive. You will select a relatively small number of entries to choose a winner, but you will rake in money from thousands of people who enter thinking the odds of winning will be very favorable. Actually the odds will be based on the total number of tickets, not the smaller number you select. Very deceptive. Trump would approve but I do not.

Hi, Ginny. You are incorrect. We will sell no more than 1,952 tickets for this raffle. All tickets sold will be put in the raffle drum on April 13 and a ticket will be chosen a random. You are correct that the actual odds will be based on the total number of tickets sold. The odds will be no smaller than 1:1,952, but could be better than that if we do not sell out of tickets. All proceeds will go to our nonprofit, which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in northern Indiana.

This is a great idea! I plan to buy a ticket and have Lafayette friends willing to support, but can you not make the buy easier? Printing your form and the need for a cashiers check is a cumbersome step. Could you please consider using PayPal? Accept a credit card? Thanks and good luck.

Because it is a raffle regulated by the Indiana State Gaming Commission we must follow state rules. It is considered a small game of chance and by law can only be paid for by check or cash. We wish we could accept online credit cards but it is illegal. Sorry!

two questions – 1 did airstream donate the trailer or are you required to pay for it. and if you sell less than a certain number of tickets does it convert to a 50/50

Great questions, Loretta! The raffle is made possible by a partnership with Thor Industries (of which Airstream is a subsidiary). ADEC purchased the Airstream last year at a discount and we are in possession of the trailer currently. The drawing will go on as planned no matter the number of tickets! It will not convert to a 50/50. Hope this helps!

Is the entry fee considered a donation and tax deductible?

Per IRS pub 526 (page 6):” If you receive or expect to receive a financial or economic benefit as a result of making a contribution to a qualified organization, you can’t deduct the part of the contribution that represents the value of the benefit you receive.”

I’m glad your are helping people who need help. I do the same, I work for a non profit. Chances I can afford one of theses are slim so winning the RV would be nice but happy to help out as well.

I’m so bummed as I thought there might be a way to participate with payment online. Is there a way for you to take a credit card payment so we can participate?

      koscherj says

We are so very sorry. Indiana state law prohibits us from taking credit card payments. Due to having to ensure payment clears we are no longer selling tickets for tomorrow’s drawing.
