It’s not too late to start “Making Cents”

For the past few months, several ADEC employees have been taking the time to attend Making Cents classes where they take a [paid] time-out from the work day to focus in on their own personal finances. Already, people are bringing these tips home and putting them in action. Each session is full of questions as employees figure out the ins and outs of banking, credit and financial freedom.

We are four sessions in already, with seven sessions left. That means you can start coming now and still be eligible to receive the $50 incentive for attending five classes! Plus, with each session you attend, you receive an additional entry to the drawing for a free set of tires from Star Tire and Brake. This will take place in December.

We are offering these classes in partnership with Mutual Bank, who bring some pretty awesome snacks to each 30-minute session. The next class is coming right up on Thursday, June 15, and it will be all about “paying yourself first,” or how you can set yourself up well with savings and investments.

When we did our Employee Survey in 2016, ADEC staff members said they were looking for more opportunities. By offering the Making Cents series, ADEC hopes this will be one more way in which ADEC can equip and empower staff members to enjoy lives filled with choice and possibility. To make it even more helpful and accessible for staff members, ADEC is offering:

  1. 1 hours pay (for your travel and time in class).
  2. $50 to anyone who completes 5 classes
  3. $100 to anyone who completes 10 classes
  4. An entry to win a set of tires from Star Tire and Brake for every class you attend.  The more classes you attend the more chances you have to win a set of tires in December 2017!
