ADEC has been providing services to children, adults and families with developmental disabilities for more than 65 years.

ADEC is a stable well respected active member of the community employing people in both Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. ADEC’s Code of Ethics ensure we treat employees with the same dignity and respect we extend to our individuals served.


ADEC offers performance incentives and an annual merit increase based on performance. Referral incentives are also offered to current ADEC employees who recommend a new employee. New employees receive a $1000 Retention Bonus your first year of employment: $200 at 90 days, $300 at 6 months and $500 at 1-year anniversary. ADEC observes nine paid holidays and offers sick time as well as vacation time, which is earned quarterly (with no waiting period) for 1 to 4 weeks, based on the length of employment. If you’re a planner and are saving for retirement, ADEC will make a maximum 6 percent retirement plan contribution match.


Sooner or later, you’ll need to visit the doctor, and we get that. ADEC offers à la carte medical, dental and vision insurance — with an available flex spending account — to employees after 90 days. We also offer long term disability and life insurance with no additional cost to employees. You may also purchase supplemental accident, life and dependent life insurance.


Life is all about change, and we strive to help you improve yourself. ADEC offers paid training as well as professional development training to employees. Do you have a dream to earn a new degree in your field or finish one you’ve started? We offer tuition assistance for up to $5,000 per 12-month period to help our employees reach their educational goals. We don’t just want you to exercise your mind, though. ADEC offers a gym membership reimbursement to help keep you in tip-top shape.


At ADEC, we want our employees to know that we value them. We offer a pay-it-forward program where we recognize the accolades of our employees and reward them. Like many people in Elkhart County, we love the 4-H Fair, so each year we offer food and ride vouchers, so our employees can spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of the fairgrounds. We also have discounts available at retailers on the local and national level.
