As the 2023 year concludes, our hearts overflow with warm reflections on the incredible journey we’ve experienced over the last twelve months. It’s a moment to pour out our sincere appreciation to the remarkable individuals and organizations that have left a mark on ADEC and, more significantly, on the lives of the individuals we serve. This year has been a testament to the power of community, boundless compassion, and a shared commitment to our mission. While the list below highlights some of our key supporters, it does not encompass all the incredible contributions we have received. Join us in sharing our gratitude to those who have been a part of our journey this past year!
Donors: A Beacon of Hope
To our donors, you are the beating heart and soul of ADEC. Your generosity has been the driving force behind our mission, infusing hope and joy into countless lives. Belmont Beverage and Chalet Party Shoppe generously donated an awe-inspiring $50,000, which will significantly impact our underfunded programming. The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) enabled us to raise $22,232 for our Child and Family Services Department. The Picture Possibilities donors have been instrumental in funding underfunded programming, while donors like Gohn Brothers Manufacturing Co. have been steadfast monthly supporters. A special nod of gratitude to Interra Credit Union for their significant $1,500 donation for Hometown Giving. Finally, the memorial donations, a poignant expression of love and remembrance, touched our hearts, bringing in approximately $4,000.
Beyond monetary support, the in-kind donations we’ve received have added a uniquely heartfelt touch to the services we provide. From formal dresses for A Night to Shine to giveaway prize options from local businesses for Picture Possibilities, two adult tricycles from Kem Krest, and 20 tickets to a South Bend Cubs Game from Coachmen Auto Club- these gestures have been rays of sunshine, bringing joy in the lives of those we serve. The overwhelming generosity of our community members also ensured that over 420 presents were secured for our Wish List program, ensuring a Christmas morning filled with the warmth of giving. A particularly touching moment arose from a memorial donation that allowed a home to gather at their departed friend’s favorite restaurant, Applebee’s, creating cherished memories.
Granters: Building Bridges of Support
ADEC extends gratitude to the Lozier Community Foundation, Everwise, and the Elkhart Rotary Club for their unwavering support. Your grants have not only paved the way for educational outings and activities but have also played a crucial role in the success of our Summer Camp. Your commitment to empowering our community is a true inspiration.
Volunteers: The Heartbeat of ADEC
To our dedicated volunteers, you are the lifeblood of our organization. From the passionate individuals at IUSB and Notre Dame’s CS for Good who shared their time at Skills Training to the encouraging individuals at Goshen College who embraced our Silver Bullets team and the dedicated individuals at Patrick Industries and USI who assisted in various projects and events- your impact has been immeasurable. Each of you have left an enduring mark on the fabric of the ADEC community.
Community Partners: We’re Stronger Together
ADEC is profoundly grateful for the invaluable partnerships woven within our community. Hacienda of Elkhart, The Imagination Spot, Ignition Music, Middlebury Then and Now, Electric Brew of Goshen, Epic Dance Studios, YMCA of Greater Michiana, and Elkhart Parks and Recreation- your unwavering support at events, giveback nights, and hosting ADEC tables has been instrumental. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the local media outlets who grouped together as community partners to help us spread our mission to the public. Your collaborative spirit has not only helped us share our mission but has also made our community stronger and more inclusive.
We would also like to highlight our employment services partners- Viewrail, Culvers, Martins Supermarket, The Soapy Gnome, and countless others- for providing meaningful opportunities and making a significant difference in the lives of individuals served by ADEC.
Sponsors: Pillars of Support
Last but certainly not least, we extend our deepest thanks to our sponsors: 1st Source Bank, DJ Construction, Grand Design RV, Thor, Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Welch Packaging, LaVanture Products Company, and Mr. and Mrs. Rodino. Your steadfast support has ensured the success of our program and initiatives.
To conclude our year, we gathered at the Learner Theater for ADEC’s 2023 Year-End Celebration luncheon. We express our gratitude to all those who joined us in reflecting on the past year and shared their aspirations for 2024. As we fondly look back on this year of gratitude, our hearts resonate with a profound appreciation for each and every one of you. Your kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment propel ADEC forward. Together, we are crafting a community that radiates inclusivity, compassion, and opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
With Heartfelt Gratitude,
The ADEC Family
