ADEC recently partnered with 28 local employers to provide career exploration for the individuals in our Skills and Training program. Over the past couple of months, each individual had the chance to choose a business to research, visit the site, participate in hands-on activities, and meet with management to learn more about the organization.
The participants will then have the opportunity to present their chosen careers during Employer Explorer Day, on October 21st from 10 am-1 pm at ADEC’s Conference and Event Center. During this event, we will also invite employers and partners to attend an informational session on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities.
As we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month, this is a great reminder that people with disabilities can and want to make an impact in the workforce!
