The vast majority of #teamADEC work as direct support professionals, who directly assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs help the people we serve accomplish their dreams, discover their true potential and lead lives full of choice and possibility. Some DSPs work with the individuals we serve in ADEC group homes or supported living settings, while other DSPs provide vocational and recreational opportunities at our six day service locations.

 New $1000 Retention Bonus for ALL Positions!

ADEC will offer a New Hire Retention Bonus to employees hired from December 14th, 2020 to June 30th, 2021. Employees will receive a total of $1000 within the first year. $200 at 90 days, $300 at 6 months and $500 at one year.

Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professionals, DSPs, fulfill ADEC’s mission of helping individuals served live lives full of choice, possibility and respect on a daily basis. DSPs have the privilege to positively impact the lives of others by assisting with daily living, helping individuals reach goals, and involving them in the community. As a DSP at ADEC, you work in a home setting developing relationships with individuals served to help them grow and achieve their dreams such as running in the Chicago Marathon, attending a Notre Dame football game, or becoming an artist, all dreams ADEC DSPs made possible.

No experience or certification required.

Positions start at $11.50 for Day Services and $12/hour for Residential with quarterly raises and annual merit increases. Both set and flexible schedules available for full and part time positions, including 20 hour, 30 hour, and 40 hour positions. HIRING FOR ALL SHIFTS!

Skills Trainer – Elkhart $11/hour

Skills Trainer is responsible for planning goal-centered activities designed to provide individuals served with developmental disabilities live a life of informed choice and possibilities. The Skills Trainer helps individuals achieve this by providing a variety of vocational and recreational activities that meet each individual’s Person Centered Individual Support Plans (PCISP) while offering them an opportunity to improve and learn new skills. Driver – Goshen – 30 hour position $14-$15/hour

Driver is responsible for providing safe and courteous transportation to the individuals we serve while being able to communicate to clients, families and deal with difficult behaviors on a route in the Goshen area. Duties include being able to follow set route outside our group homes and supported living, maintain vehicle, add fuel, record daily odometer and individuals on bus each day, report any difficult behaviors to the appropriate program manager. Must have driver’s license (CDL preferred), ability to lift 60 pounds, and ability to bend, stretch, and kneel when needed. High school diploma or equivalent required. Assistant Group Home Manager – Goshen $13/hour

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a residential group home for persons with intellectual developmental disabilities to ensure active treatment and increased independence for all residents in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Provide day-to-day supervision with guidance of the Residential Manager to all group home staff assigned and provide daily assistance to group home residents. One-year experience preferred. The Behaviorist will assess individuals served with behavioral concerns, study changes in environment that has an impact on behavior and develop behavior support plans to help the individual manage or eliminate behaviors. The Behaviorist also consults with and provides training and support to Direct Support Professionals and guardian/family members to properly develop and implement the behavior support plan. The Behaviorist maintains all required documentation ensuring federal, state and ADEC regulations and guidelines are met. Experience with the Indiana Medicaid Waiver. Med Flex – Bristol $11.50/hour

Increase the independence of persons with disabilities living in group homes by providing active treatment and personal assistance. Maintain proper inventory of medications in the home, including PRN meds and first aid kit. Schedule and run doctor appointments, including transportation for those appointments. Coordinate day-to-day activities of a group home for adults with developmental disabilities and provide day-to-day supervision of all assigned staff and monitoring 8 clients in the home. Some duties include, Coordination and implementation of individual program plan for each client, supervise support staff, selection and hiring of new staff, scheduling and setting work hours, training, probation and annual evaluation, discipline and discharge, coordinate client income, and complete all banking procedures, and on call duties as required.
