The vast majority of #teamADEC work as direct support professionals, who directly assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs help the people we serve accomplish their dreams, discover their true potential and lead lives full of choice and possibility. Some DSPs work with the individuals we serve in ADEC group homes or supported living settings, while other DSPs provide vocational and recreational opportunities at our six day service locations.

Direct Support Professional – $15-16 per hour based on experience

Direct Support Professionals, DSPs, fulfill ADEC’s mission of helping individuals served live lives full of choice, possibility and respect on a daily basis. DSPs have the privilege to positively impact the lives of others by assisting with daily living, helping individuals reach goals, and involving them in the community. As a DSP at ADEC, you work in a home setting developing relationships with individuals served to help them grow and achieve their dreams such as running in the Chicago Marathon, attending a Notre Dame football game, or becoming an artist, all dreams ADEC DSPs made possible.

Driver’s license, auto insurance and the ability to lift 60 pounds required. No experience or certification required.

DSP positions start at $15/hour for day service and residential positions. Both set and flexible schedules are available! Full time and part time opportunities available on all shifts.

Employment Consultant – $16-17 per hour based on experience

Employment Consultant is responsible for the provision of effective employment services ranging from the full spectrum of Vocational Rehabilitation services through Extended Services. Provide program management services for assigned individuals served.  Responsible for profitable operations and quality services. Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation or Psychology field preferred or associate degree and/or high school diploma with three to five years of related work experience. Recreational Therapist – $19.00/hour

Recreational Therapist is responsible for restoring, remediate, or rehabilitate to improve functioning and independence, as well as reduce or eliminate the effects of illness or disability through the provision of recreational therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities.  Also, the Recreational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of leisure-based interventions based on individual’s needs and interests.  Being able to consult with and preparation of reports for other members of the support team, and service providers, as well as the supervision and provision of in-service training for other caregivers. Must have bachelor’s or master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university and be Certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Music Therapist – $19-21 per hour based on experience

Music Therapist is responsible for restoring or rehabilitate to improve functioning and independence, as well as reducing or eliminate the effects of illness or disability through the provision of music therapy to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Some duties include Assessing each assigned client one on one, communication to internal, external, clients, and families, Medicaid wavier experience preferred, computer skills preferred, quarterly reporting with music therapist department, flexible schedule depending on school schedules, and must have a music therapist board certification and bachelor’s degree in field. Behavior Therapist – $19-21 per hour based on experience

Help individuals served improve quality of life, increase independence and have meaningful participation in the community by providing specified behavior management techniques to eliminate or manage behavioral concerns. Observe individuals served on caseload, develop individual behavior support plans and train the Individual Support Team on the plans.
