ADEC employs nearly 400 people and operates 21 locations in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties.

The vast majority of #teamADEC work as direct support professionals, who directly assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs help the people we serve accomplish their dreams, discover their true potential and lead lives full of choice and possibility. Some DSPs work with the individuals we serve in ADEC group homes or supported living settings, while other DSPs provide vocational and recreational opportunities at our five day service locations.

Our team consists of students, parents, and retirees. Some came with many years of experience, some came with none at all. All came with the goal of making a difference in someone’s life and in their community.

Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professionals, DSPs, fulfill ADEC’s mission of helping individuals served live lives full of choice, possibility and respect on a daily basis. DSPs have the privilege to positively impact the lives of others by assisting with daily living, helping individuals reach goals, and involving them in the community. As a DSP at ADEC, you work in a home setting developing relationships with individuals served to help them grow and achieve their dreams such as running in the Chicago Marathon, attending a Notre Dame football game, or becoming an artist, all dreams ADEC DSPs made possible.

No experience or certification required.

Positions start at $10.50 for Day Services and $11/hour for Residential with quarterly raises and annual merit increases. Both set and flexible schedules available for full and part time positions, including 20 hour, 30 hour, and 40 hour positions.

Staff Nurse/LPN

The staff nurse is responsible for monitoring the health care needs for individuals served in Community Living, counseling and training staff, and assuring compliance with Medicaid regulations. Work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm with participation in an on-call rotation. LPN with an Indiana license required. Director of Day Services

The Director of Day Services is responsible for overall organizing, implementing, and directing daily operations of Adult Habilitation Services while having an understanding, respect and commitment to ADEC’s mission of providing choice and possibility to our clients. Bachelor’s degree required in special education, education, or social sciences with minimum of four years’ experience working with developmental disabilities. Group Home Manager/Q-tech – Goshen

Coordinate day-to-day activities of a group home for persons with developmental disabilities and provide day-to-day supervision of all assigned staff. Coordinate and implement the individual program plans including writing goals for each client and ensure consistence, accurate data collection and increase greater independence for each client. Music Therapist

Music Therapist is responsible for restoring or rehabilitate to improve functioning and independence, as well as reducing or eliminate the effects of illness or disability through the provision of music therapy to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Some duties include Assessing each assigned client one on one, communication to internal, external, clients, and families, Medicaid wavier experience preferred, computer skills preferred, quarterly reporting with music therapist department, flexible schedule depending on school schedules, and must have a music therapist board certification and bachelor’s degree in field.
