ADEC employs nearly 400 people and operates 21 locations in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties.

The vast majority of #teamADEC work as direct support professionals, who directly assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs help the people we serve accomplish their dreams, discover their true potential and lead lives full of choice and possibility. Some DSPs work with the individuals we serve in ADEC group homes or supported living settings, while other DSPs provide vocational and recreational opportunities at our six day service locations.

 New $1000 Retention Bonus for ALL Positions!

ADEC will offer a New Hire Retention Bonus to employees hired from December 14th, 2020 to June 30th, 2021. Employees will receive a total of $1000 within the first year. $200 at 90 days, $300 at 6 months and $500 at one year.

Direct Support Professional – Hiring all Shifts $15.00/hr

Direct Support Professionals, DSPs, fulfill ADEC’s mission of helping individuals served live lives full of choice, possibility and respect on a daily basis. DSPs have the privilege to positively impact the lives of others by assisting with daily living, helping individuals reach goals, and involving them in the community. As a DSP at ADEC, you work in a home setting developing relationships with individuals served to help them grow and achieve their dreams such as running in the Chicago Marathon, attending a Notre Dame football game, or becoming an artist, all dreams ADEC DSPs made possible.

Driver’s license, auto insurance and the ability to lift 60 pounds required. No experience or certification required.

DSP positions start at $15/hour for day service and residential positions. Both set and flexible schedules are available! Full time and part time opportunities available on all shifts.

Skills Trainer – Elkhart $15/hour

Skills Trainer is responsible for planning goal-centered activities designed to provide individuals served with developmental disabilities live a life of informed choice and possibilities. The Skills Trainer helps individuals achieve this by providing a variety of vocational and recreational activities that meet each individual’s Person Centered Individual Support Plans (PCISP) while offering them an opportunity to improve and learn new skills. Med Flex – Bristol or Goshen $15.00/hr

Increase the independence of persons with disabilities living in group homes by providing active treatment and personal assistance. Maintain proper inventory of medications in the home, including PRN meds and first aid kit. Schedule and run doctor appointments, including transportation for those appointments. Group Home Manager – Goshen – $15.87/hour

Coordinate day-to-day activities of a group home for adults with developmental disabilities and provide day-to-day supervision of all assigned staff and monitoring 8 clients in the home. Some duties include, Coordination and implementation of individual program plan for each client, supervise support staff, selection and hiring of new staff, scheduling and setting work hours, training, probation and annual evaluation, discipline and discharge, coordinate client income, and complete all banking procedures, and on call duties as required. Recreational Therapist – $19.00/hour

Recreational Therapist is responsible for restoring, remediate, or rehabilitate to improve functioning and independence, as well as reduce or eliminate the effects of illness or disability through the provision of recreational therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities.  Also, the Recreational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of leisure-based interventions based on individual’s needs and interests.  Being able to consult with and preparation of reports for other members of the support team, and service providers, as well as the supervision and provision of in-service training for other caregivers. Must have bachelor’s or master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university and be Certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Music Therapist – $19.00/hour

Music Therapist is responsible for restoring or rehabilitate to improve functioning and independence, as well as reducing or eliminate the effects of illness or disability through the provision of music therapy to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Behavior Therapist – $19.00/hour

Help individuals served improve quality of life, increase independence and have meaningful participation in the community by providing specified behavior management techniques to eliminate or manage behavioral concerns. Observe individuals served on caseload, develop individual behavior support plans and train the Individual Support Team on the plans. Communication Specialist

The Communications Manager coordinates external and internal communications to ensure consist messaging of ADEC’s mission, vision and values. This includes all media outlets, all social media platforms, and other forms of external and internal communication. Manages ADEC’s website. Works with programming and ADEC departments to share ADEC’s special events, resources, and mission with community. Supervises the communication’s team and serves as member of Program Service Leadership team. The Communications Manager will have a direct reporting relationship with ADEC’s Vice President, Community Outreach.
