Every summer, the Notre Dame Alumni Association hosts the Family Volunteer Camp, a delightful blend of community service and family fun. Families from all over come to campus, dedicating approximately five hours each day to support local nonprofit organizations. ADEC was thrilled to partner with the Family Volunteer Camp this year, welcoming four incredible groups throughout July.
Mini Golf Magic
The first volunteer group started their service with a fun day at Ninja Golf, joining our Summer Camp program. The mini-golf course was buzzing with excitement as campers and volunteers alike competed in friendly matches. Laughter filled the air as new friendships blossomed over shared adventures on the putting greens. The camaraderie and joy were palpable, leaving both campers and volunteers with unforgettable memories.
Sunshine on a Rainy Day
The second group of volunteers didn’t let a little rain dampen their spirits. They brought sunshine indoors to our Summer Camp program with a day packed with karaoke, Just Dance, board games, and more. Despite the weather, the energy was electric, and the room echoed with laughter and music. The volunteers’ infectious enthusiasm turned a gloomy day into a bright, cheerful one, creating cherished moments for our campers.
A Colorful Transformation
Our third group of volunteers took on a creative project at our Bristol Day Program, transforming a room with a fresh coat of paint. With dedication and hard work, they painted the space in vibrant ADEC colors, creating a lively and welcoming environment. The new look brought smiles to the faces of our clients, who now enjoy a bright and exciting space thanks to the volunteers’ efforts.
Creative Contributions
The final volunteer group joined individuals from all of ADEC’s Day Programs to decorate yard signs for our upcoming Ride-A-Bike fundraising event. The room was lively with creativity and joy as clients and volunteers collaborated to decorate the signs. The colorful, personalized signs will add a special touch to our event, reminding everyone of the love and teamwork that went into making them.
