Every summer, the Notre Dame Alumni Association hosts the Family Volunteer Camp, a delightful blend of community service and family fun. Families from all over come to campus, dedicating approximately five hours each day to support local nonprofit organizations. ADEC was thrilled to partner with the Family Volunteer Camp for the second year, welcoming three incredible groups throughout July.

Volunteer Group One

The first group of Notre Dame volunteers kicked off their service with a hole-in-one kind of day alongside our Mishawaka Summer Camp Program at Ninja Golf! Campers and volunteers teamed up for a morning of mini-golf fun, where every putt came with laughter and plenty of high-fives. The course was filled with friendly competition, silly celebrations, and new friendships forming with every hole. Whether dodging ninja obstacles or sinking the perfect shot, the energy was contagious and the joy unmistakable. It was a day of connection, adventure, and unforgettable memories for everyone involved!

Volunteer Group Two

The second group of Notre Dame volunteers brought the rhythm and the fun to our Elkhart Summer Camp Program at ADEC’s Resource Center! Campers were in the middle of Music Week, and our volunteers didn’t miss a beat. The morning kicked off with a creative jam session as campers and volunteers teamed up to craft their very own tambourines—shaking, decorating, and laughing all the way. Next up: karaoke! The room was alive with energy as everyone took turns belting out their favorite tunes, with volunteers cheering and even joining in on the mic. The day wrapped up with campers rehearsing their talent show acts, and the volunteers jumped in to help perfect dance moves, polish performances, and pump up confidence for the big show ahead. It was a day full of music, movement, and memories that will have us all humming along for weeks to come!

Volunteer Group Three

The third group of Notre Dame volunteers spent the morning with ADEC’s Skills & Training Program! The day started with a splash of fun as individuals and volunteers tie-dyed vibrant items together—every swirl of color bringing smiles and messy hands. After that, the creativity kept flowing with ADEC keychain making, where each piece was a one-of-a-kind creation. In the afternoon, volunteers jumped into event prep mode, helping sticker and stuff materials for our upcoming Ride-A-Bike event. From tie-dye to teamwork, it was a day full of connection, creativity, and meaningful impact!

We are deeply grateful to the volunteers from the Notre Dame Alumni Association’s Family Volunteer Camp for choosing to spend their summer vacations with us. We appreciate your hard work, passion for service, and the positive impact you’ve made on our ADEC community. You’ve brought joy, creativity, and vibrant energy to our programs, and we can’t thank you enough for your incredible contributions.

At ADEC, we cherish the support of our volunteers and the beautiful moments created through their generosity. Together, we continue to build a community where everyone can thrive and enjoy a life full of possibilities.
