A Slam Dunk of a Season: The Silver Bullets 23-24 Season

The Silver Bullets are more than just a basketball team; with a team of 54 dynamic players, backed by the infectious energy of 10 cheerleaders, 8 dedicated event staff, passionate coaches, and supportive ADEC staff, they were united by a love for the game and a drive to excel. This season was a slam dunk of excitement, camaraderie, and community spirit!

From November to February, the Silver Bullets dazzled fans with their talent on the court. With each pass, dribble, and shot, they showcased the true essence of teamwork and sportsmanship. And boy, did they deliver some unforgettable moments and many three-pointers!

Thanks to the generosity of this season’s sponsor, Grand Design Recreational Vehicles, the Silver Bullets soared to new heights. Grand Design’s commitment to our community shone brightly throughout the season, reminding us that great things happen when businesses and organizations come together for a common goal.

Of course, no team is complete without worthy opponents, and boy, did the Silver Bullets face some fierce competition! ADEC staff, Grand Design RV, Arby’s, Welch Packaging, Goshen Health, and Elkhart Parks and Recreation all brought their A-game to the court, challenging our Silver Bullets to elevate their skills and teamwork with each match.

Let’s not forget the support of our community! From the crowd’s roar to the chants of encouragement, the Silver Bullets felt the love at every game from the community filling the stands and volunteers cheering from the sidelines. The Silver Bullets program offers so much more than just a chance to exercise. It provides an opportunity for the individuals ADEC serves to connect with community members. This season, they kicked off with a basketball practice at Goshen College, where students and players came together to work on their skills for the upcoming season. Students from IUSB also supported the Silver Bullets this season by volunteering during one of the games.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. With the close of the season, the Silver Bullets gathered one last time to celebrate their achievements, sportsmanship, and the incredible bond that brought them together. The celebratory end party was a fitting tribute to the season, with lots of smiling faces, boogieing on the dance floor, and a huge pizza party!
