The History

Back in 1958, ADEC Industries started as one of the first sheltered workshops, extending vocational training and practical experience to adults with disabilities. Over the years, our focus evolved, shining a spotlight on aiding those with visual impairments.

. The early 1980s marked a pivotal moment- ADEC received a grant that paved the path to our current Elkhart location. This move aimed to widen the horizon of vocational opportunities for a diverse range of individuals.

Fast forward to 2020, a transformative leap occurred. ADEC’s Board of Directors and Leadership orchestrated a shift from a sheltered workshop setup to a forward- looking, integrated competitive employer. This change opened doors for individuals with disabilities to contribute in meaningful ways to their community.
